Moving On - Leaving AOTS/G4/LA for Late Night/NBC/NYC

I’ve finally found an actual use for this skelton of a blog that I’ve barely been keeping up - major life announcements.

Long story short, I have accepted a job as Co-Producer on what will be the new version of NBC’s “Late Night” starring Jimmy Fallon and have left my post as Executive Producer of G4’s Attack of the Show. In addition (as if this wasn’t enough), the Late Night position is based in New York City and as such I am relocating myself ASAP and my family over the next two to three weeks.

I am both exceptionally excited for this fantastic opportunity and very bummed about leaving something I had such a hand in creating/molding. I’ve been at G4 for over six years and on AOTS (or some version of this show) for nearly four and have been astounded and amazed at the amount of creative growth the show has shown, especially over the last year.

As of late, AOTS has come into its own as a risk-taking comedic factory of joy that makes me laugh many times every day. Much of this is due to Kevin & Olivia, their ease with one another and the material. However, the contributions of the staff cannot be underestimated. This is a show that has many people busting their asses everyday to make things that make no sense suddenly appear on camera. All of them are talented and will continue to push the envelope. Luckily, I’m leaving the show in very capable hands.

Of course, to leave a show as awesome as AOTS the opportunity must be great and in this case, I can’t imagine a more fitting and exceptional way to move my personal career to the next level. I have a huge amount of respect for the people I’ll be working with in New York and cannot wait to get started on making this show. From the early work we’ll be doing on the internet to the actual show once it gets launched, I’m excited to bring my unique perspective (specifically regarding new media) to network television.

That’s pretty much it. I’m psyched. Oh, if you’ve got a good broker for Brooklyn shoot me an email!

Gavin - this is awesome news. AOTS has been great at putting the comedy of discomfort inside a pop culture roundup show, looking forward to seeing what you’ll do with Fallon. Welcome to NYC.

Welcome to the NYC comedy scene. It is supportive and brutal at the same time, just like the internet. You’ll love it. Here’s a place to find a place. http://www.improvresourcecenter.com/mb/showthread.php?t=55597
Give me a shout if I can help you get settled.
